EFI with EDIS Ignition If you want to dramatically improve the performance of your 911SC and raise the compression or change cams or increase the displacement, you must replace your original CIS with a more capable system. If you have decided to convert to EFI, adding the EDIS (Electronic Distributorless Ignition System) will allow you to adjust both fuel delivery and ignition timing, and provide just the right combination to match your engine's performance needs. Consider this: The cost to replace a Bosch CD unit is now $1800, the cost of your Bosch Ignition Distributor is more than $1000. A Bosch Ign Coil is $200 and a full set of Stainless braided plug wires is over $400. EDIS is a further step in the EFI conversion process. It uses a new ECU with added circuitry to control your ignition as easily as you control the fuel delivery. You remove the original CD unit, Ignition Distributor & Ignition Coil, and replace it with the EDIS module & coil pack. Both our systems are available at less than half the cost of the Bosch components they replace. We provide mounts for the coil pack & ignition module, an adapter & a (36-1) toothed wheel to fit to your crank pulley, and a mount with sensor to pick up the timing signal. If you already have our basic EFI conversion package and you decide to add EDIS, we will exchange the ECU for the correct one at minimal cost and provide a kit to mount the necessary components. At present, this will only be available for installation at our shop here in Stow. We hope in the near future to be able to supply individual components to everyone who asks. |
